Growing up, we had "pasta and cherry sauce" (every bit I liked to call it) aka spaghetti with marinara and ground beef about every week.

Well, my friends, this spaghetti bolognese is like the elevated version of pasta and blood-red sauce. It'due south still quick and easy, but instead of using a jarred sauce, nosotros're making our own marinara and we're throwing in a bit of salary for good measure. 😉

What is spaghetti bolognese?

Bolognese sauce is a thick and hearty tomato plant-based sauce made with ground meat and Italian seasonings.

How to make

Can you use fresh herbs?

How to store

Store the bolognese sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for upwardly to 4 days or in the freezer (just the sauce) for up to 3 months.

To reheat,thaw in the fridge if frozen, so microwave or estrus on the stovetop before serving over spaghetti noodles!

  • Cook salary in a large stockpot over medium heat. Remove once crispy, then crumble and set aside.

  • Cook, breaking up the meat as you go, until the meat has cooked through and the carrots are cooked to your liking, nigh 10 minutes.

  • Drain grease.

  • Return stockpot to the stove, and deglaze with the ruby-red wine.

  • 
Stir in lycopersicon esculentum paste, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, and crumbled salary.

  • Bring to a simmer, stirring regularly.

  • Once simmering, reduce heat to low, encompass, and simmer for 30 minutes.

  • Stir in balsamic vinegar.
